COLORADO
One of the 8 Mountain States in the US, Colorado's dramatic landscape includes high plains, foothills, rolling mountains, and vast forests. Reforestation in Colorado will restore these iconic forests and promote biodiversity.
With your help, we will:
- Protect and preserve the local water supply
- Reduce the impact of wildfires and increase fire resilience
- Preserve native trees by restoring landscapes
WHY WE DO IT
Colorado has the highest elevation of any state in the US. With towering mountains and flat plains, 32% of Colorado's landscape is covered in forested land. These forests have a healthy mix of coniferous and deciduous species, making these forested areas the most complex forests in the Intermountain West. Planting trees in Colorado will help restore landscapes while preserving these beautiful forests for generations to come.
As tree planting costs are higher in Colorado, we have aligned our costs to make sure we're creating an impact. We plant one tree for every $3 USD donated.
HOW WE DO IT
Recent forest fires and other threats have put many forests in Colorado at risk. The trees planted across Colorado will help improve biodiversity while also restoring what has been lost, protecting water supplies and improving the livelihood of local communities.
